Volunteer With Us

Would you like to volunteer and assist with the day to day running of the shop and support the learners during their 8 week training programme?  It's a great way to support independent artisans, the local community and to gain experience in retail.

Fayre and Square is an MVSC Employability Project selling handmade arts and crafts made by local independent artisans and is based in Centre Court Shopping Centre, Wimbledon.  We are looking for volunteers who would like to help us run Fayre and Square, as well as support our young learners whilst in the shop. You will work with the young person supporting them on tasks such as serving on the till, customer service and stock taking. Volunteers offer encouragement and support to our learners, assisting with their personal development. This project enables access to volunteering for young adults 16+ who, for a variety of reasons, need additional support. We provide an opportunity to learn basic retail and people skills while promoting small business to the public.  Volunteering can help you build skills and confidence, encourage social contact and make use of your spare time in a fun and valuable way.

Skills/experience: We are looking for volunteers who have an interest in working with and supporting young people, particularly those with a disability or mental health issue. Volunteers should be patient, able to empathise and good communicators. Retail skills desirable but not essential.
